I have for sale a 1960 Vanden Plas 4-Litre Princess Limousine. Vanden Plas is a very famous coach builder that has built bodies for many car companies. This is a hand built car with an aluminum body over a wooden framework. This car was the standard for the British royal family all through the 1960s. I bought this car as a project to build for my wife. It has been sitting in my garage for a couple of years now and I see that it is never going to find it's place in the long list of projects that I already have. My plan was to build this car to look original on the outside but to have modern technology underneath. It already has a late model Ford 302 engine/transmission installed. This was in it when I got it so I have no idea if it runs or not. I had intended to take out all of the 50 year old wiring and put in a street rod wiring harness, install modern front and rear running gear with, A/C, cruise, etc. The body is good over all but there are some places that need repairs. The front fenders are steel and need repair. The interior needs to be fully upgraded, but it does have the cool sliding window separating the driver from the Lord of the manor. One of the cool things on this car is that it has hydraulic jacks mounted at all 4 corners in the suspension. They are controlled by the driver and the car can be completely lifted and leveled with them. Now I don't know that they work on this car but they are there. This car has never been titled in CA. It was last titled in OK sometime in the 90s. I will give the buyer a Bill of Sale. The DMV says that when the car is completed and inspected that they can register it with just the Bill of Sale since it is so old. The last picture shows a Princess with the optional Rolls Royce grill. I have a source to get one of these grills in L.A. for $600 that I will give to the buyer if interested.
